Conspiracy Theory

Image
Now I am not one to jump on to every conspiracy theory bandwagon. Sure Idaho may not exist because no one has really met someone from Idaho, maybe we didn't land on the moon and that footage was made up and perhaps the Lockness Monster really does inhabit that body of water in Scotland, but I am not going to go rally somewhere, create some gift shop with pamphlets and make my own website or anything. Though I do find it suspicious that Glee's last episode has yet to make it to Hulu or Fox's website. It supposedly "aired" on Tuesday but I couldn't find it (I am completely inept at finding certain tv shows, even with a guide I have to watch Glee on the internet for that exact reason. I know Bravo, Lifetime [don't judge, just for Project Runway], TLC [sometimes I watch their medical anomaly shows, ie The Half Ton Man, etc.] and Food Network). Regardless I really question whether or not it ever really was on television and therefore is not on the internet. Now...

Sometimes I wish burkas or something equally covering were socially acceptable things to wear if you chose to wear one. Disclaimer: Let's be clear now, I am not saying I would ever ever like to live under any regime or be forced to wear one. I realize there are several political and religious implications and in no way am I wishing to dabble in any of that. Nor am I condoning the oppression of women's rights. I also understand that I do have the freedom to wear one right now if I wanted to, I just wish it would be socially acceptable amongst those close to me. I am just saying it would be helpful on days when your face is completely broken out (especially if it is freakishly broken out on one side of your face like Batman's Two Face), or on days when you don't necessarily feel "trim" or when you don't know what to wear or on days when all of the above applies (ahem... today). You could just throw it on and it would solve all of the afore mentioned proble...

How About A Quiche?

Image
I felt like a mad scientist making my first quiche. I decided I could do it without a recipe. A little milk, a lot of eggs, some bacon, loads of cheese (blended cheddar and mozzarella), bits of spinach, a hint of butter, dash of salt and pepper and then a little more milk...ew too thin, bit more cheese. Surprisingly you can't go wrong with cheese, bacon and pie crust, who would've thought right? Very forgiving meal. I always thought quiche was a healthy choice and maybe normal quiche is healthy but my quiche is evidently not that healthy.

I know someone who knows someone

Where else could I find a person wearing a large red down comforter like a cape, a giant drum circle along side a man dancing with feathers, an outdoor gym with overly buff men wearing speedos, a man that's head was shaved with the exception of two tufts of hair on either side of his head that were colored bright red and spiked to look like horns with accompanying demon wings and tail tattooed on his back, knife jugglers, a two headed turtle, multiple people dressed as Spiderman and a homeless person parade? A lot of places you say? Okay, maybe you can see unique characters in a number of places but this time I saw this diverse crowd of people at Venice beach. Full of hustlers, palm readers, tough guys, and puppies (for real, I saw about 30 different people carrying around tiny tiny baby boxer puppies...adorable). I loved every bit of it. Art of every kind, ice cream cones, intense games of basketball, rollerblading, bicycling and skateboarding in all directions. Ultra bendy guy ...

I started my day off right. Little prayer time/ devotions. Follow that up with a bowl (or two...whatev) of cinnamon Life cereal, reading, pilates and then lunch. Italian wedding soup (yes, it is from a can, don't judge.) plus a provolone and mozzarella grilled cheese and some dried apricots for dessert. Here is a close up of one of the most delicious grilled cheeses I have made to date. (Saying grilled cheese in the plural form makes me think of this past Glee sode.) Later tonight we will cook chili in preparation for our Chi Alpha tailgate tomorrow. Then we will spend the evening with students at our movie night and dinner. Oh and this is completely irrelevant but my roommate found these shoes at a thrift store to sell on Ebay and gave them to me once we found they fit. They are all leather and were evidently made in Italy (fancy). PS I have been looking at a lot of decorating tips for ideas for when I move into my lovely guest house in the back. I want to figure out how to make m...
Fall weather has officially arrived. I am completely iced over right now. Socks-check, workout pants-check, sweatshirt over other shirt-check, blankets-check check! Now all I need is a space heater. What a difference from last week. Today I have been going nonstop. I have been on campus and around campus since noon and I just got back. Before noon I was rushing around trying to get things done before I would be on campus all day. I am ready to go into my coma though before I do fall asleep I thought I would go over my fall playlist (basically music I have been frequently listening to lately. I just saw someone else do this and then it got me thinking of my own). Awake My Soul- Mumford and Sons Uprising- Muse The Cave- Mumford and Sons Bulletproof- La Roux Hometown Glory- Adele Kids-MGMT Serpent Charmer- Iron & Wine No Rain- Blind Melon L.E.S. Artistes- Santogold Hate on Me-Cast of Glee Why do you let me stay here?-She & Him Tiger Mountain Peasant Song- First Aid Kit Heirloom-Su...
