It's Been A While

I return to this blog from time to time. I started it in 2007 as I was embarking on my first solo international trip to Ireland. I kept it going and then abandoned then picked it up again, then abandoned.  Shared musings, thoughts, ideas, and ruminations. And lately I have been aching for an outlet again. I work in graphic design which is a creative outlet of sorts.  I journal, sketch, collage, dabble in interior design, cook, etc. as a way to express myself. And I feel like I have abandoned writing as of late. I miss being curious on paper (or I guess on screen haha). I know no one will read this and honestly there is some peace in knowing that.

In a perfectly curated world, full of branding and PR specialists I want something raw...unpolished, unrefined, and human. Perhaps this is a response to AI or the way that social media has shifted culture over the past couple of decades. But I yearn for a more "analogue" life. Hand drawn, misspelled, and beautifully flawed. So I hope to post on here sketches, bad poetry, photos taken that captured my attention, ruminations, and inspirations.

I love how this platform hasn't changed much. It feels like returning to an old friend. Who knows how long this will last. I am not trying to force anything. Part of me thinks it would be great to try and post something every day for the next month and just see how that goes... how that feels. Or maybe this will be the only post I make until the next decade. But here goes nothing...
