Unpacking

Image
Since my SD card reader went MIA and I was spending my last days in Kansas visiting family and friends, I fell way behind on my posting. So sorry, my faithful readers. I flew back to LA yesterday and have almost completely unpacked, that includes unpacking the photos from my cameras. Yes, I just said cameras...with an 's'. I am now the proud owner of a Nikon D3100. The most exciting aspect of my new camera, is its video capabilities. Here are some unpacked photos from my Pentax... The Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera exhibition at Nelson Atkins Museum of Art: Pooch Plunge at Youngs Pool, that Autty worked at: It was too cute, Hank would try and bring back every tennis ball he swam by. Autty told me her main job was to keep the humans out of the water because there was no chlorine in the pool, and she had to keep her eye out for a chubby white English bulldog who didn't know how to swim.  In lieu of missing out on SantaCaliGon Da...

As Promised: First Friday Extravaganza

Image
Since I have been in Kansas I have visited a great many galleries and thrift stores. I went to First Fridays at the Crossroads Art District as you know from my last post. And as promised I have photos to share with you. Autumn, Priscilla and I met up at the Belger as usual and took to the streets. We had a fantastic photobooth picture taken at the photobooth bus! I'll have to put that picture up soon! This was Autumn's favorite piece of the night. Autumn ran into some of her friends.  Following the galleries and the acrobats, we walked down to 18th Street to see the breakdancers outside of Birdies (see videos from yesterday). We then thought it would be fun to go to the Liberty Memorial and get some nice night shots.  Priscilla and Autumn were very inspired by the breakdancers and tried out some of their moves. I think they have perfected their moves, ...

Very Eventful Part 2

And the shenanigans continue! A brief rundown of my staycation... MONDAY Started the week off right and introduced Lisa to the beaches of LA. We saw about 15 dolphins out in the open and wild. She then treated me to dinner and we tried Father's Office, which was a fantastic idea. My burger had Maytag Blue, arugula, and caramelized onions and the shoestring fries were served with a superb aioli. I will definitely need to make sure I come back again. TUESDAY Tourist for the day to the max! We bought StarMaps which has the addresses of hundreds of celebs. I saw the driveways of CeeLo Green, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, etc. etc. Followed it all up with Sprinkles cupcakes. WEDNESDAY After being here for three years, I finally made my way down to downtown Hollywood. I saw the hand prints, the stars and the casting couch. Too too fun. Also I am very proud of myself, mastering the bus system and all. I feel like a real-live adult, which doesn't happen to ofte...
