Thankful: My Life

Image
For the past couple weeks I have been working to the point of exhaustion. From the moment I wake up to the moment I am going to sleep I have been going full steam ahead. Cutting back my hours of sleep at night, skipping showering some days, and squeezing food in here or there to fit it all in. And still I have had to push deadlines back because I couldn't fit them into the allotted time. Perhaps not the most sustainable lifestyle, but I don't regret one minute of it, because I am doing what I love. I love creating and  I love connecting with people. I may not love doing revisions for clients who don't know what they want, and who want you to just keep creating things so they can decide what they want, but it goes along with the territory. And don't get me wrong, I cherish easy-going days and pine for them amidst busy weeks. But I feel so blessed when I think, this is what I get to do in my life. I get to design, create, meet, mentor, and pour into other's lives. ...

Thankful x2: Veterans & Pepero

Image
It goes without saying, that I am utterly thankful for everyone who has or is putting their lives on the line for the safety, freedom and well being of this country and everyone in it. I am so proud of my family and friends who have given years of their lives in service of this magnificent country. So a great big THANK YOU (yes, I am yelling that) to all you vets out there. This is a fantastic country and it wouldn't be the place that it is without you. I am thankful for vets on other days that aren't Veteran's Day, but it seems rather timely to mention it now. As I previously mentioned... I will double up on random days to make up for lost time in my thankfulness. Today is not only Veteran's Day, but it is also Pepero Day in Korea and other parts of Asia. I heard about such a day from several Korean and Chinese visiting scholars in Conversation Circle. Pepero day is like Valentine's Day but for single people. Its on 11/11 each year...get it? one one one one...s...

Thankful:2

Thankful post 2... I will double up on random days so I can catch up but mix it up a bit. And I would like to state that my thankful posts are not in any particular order, so don't think I am playing favorites or anything. I am so very thankful for my grandparents. Not only do I have 4 sets of grandparents but all of them are so stellar and have been amazing examples to me in my life. I have 2 sets of step-grandparents, 2 sets of biological grandparents (one of which I didn't meet till later in life, but I still want to include them in my list of thankfulness, because without them I wouldn't exist) and my mother's adoptive parents. All of my grandparents enriched my life so much and I can't imagine not having them in my life. I don't have pictures of all my gparents so I wasn't planning on putting anyone's pictures up, but today is my Gma and Gpa Hamilton's 59th Anniversary so I want to do a little extra shout out to them today! I hope y...

Bless-ed

I had full intentions of doing a daily countdown to Thanksgiving where I post about something I am thankful for. But when November 1st hit, I had troubles narrowing it down to just one thing I was thankful for. I felt it was too difficult to start off with just one thing and I didn't want anyone to think that I was doing the countdown in an order of importance. I'm also afraid to list out all my thankfulness because what if I left something out? What if I left out something like books, or art galleries or skin and I can't forget about kittens. There aren't enough days in the countdown to devote to my thankfulness. Not to sound pious, but its true. I could devote full posts to things like eyelashes, music, elbow joints and shocks on cars and that's not even including family, electricity, toilet paper or food! My list of thankfulness would be too too extensive and exhaustive and yet still not exhaustive enough. It also wouldn't be able to capture the magnitude of ...
