Work Force

Image
As I mentioned in my past post, I have been doing more hands on work with my business instead of doing it long-distance. Its been really fun meeting clients and taking tours. Though taking measurements of all the signage at apartment complexes was kind of disorienting with all the curves and ins and outs. I have taken two in depth tours at two of our suppliers/manufacturers locations. It was like watching Mr. Rogers taking a tour of factory, only this was real life. (My fave Mr. Rogers sode was the one where they manufacture crayons O_O). My first tour was at Custom Color which I took some pictures at (see below). We get most of our large scale banners and signage printed at Custom Color, they have printers that can print banners the size of skyscrapers on any material you could imagine. Some of the printers are so large that if you hollowed them out I could live inside of it comfortably. They have two rare and highly technilogical printers that print on fabric using colored gas, th...

Birthday? More like Birthweek

Image
Internet activity has caused me to fail at my post-every-day-of-August challenge. So we are now changing it to post-as-much-as-possible-during-the-month-of-August challenge. My birthday was this past Monday and it was super perfect. I spent the afternoon eating at Andre's Confiserie Suisse and birthday shopping with my Gma. And then later that evening I had several family members over for a summery birthday dinner (bratwurst, potato salad, watermelon,  spicy spinach madeline, etc.) and had a homemade gradient cake with almond extract icing...mmmmm. I basically have this week split up in two categories... 1.) birthday extraveganzas 2.) work related ventures. Since Monday I have been doing tours of different print shops and factories for my business (that I co-own) and getting inspired by the endless possibilities there are in printing materials and die-cut machines. More on that later! This evening I was treated to Oklahoma Joes (the original location that is connected to a...

Outlook Creative

I failed you...again. I have tried to post on here every day for at least the month of August (except for the 1st because that was a travel day). Though alas life caught up with me.  For a large majority of yesterday and today, my sister-in-law and I have been promoting our new signage and design solutions company, Outlook Creative LLC at an Early-Education-Conference. If you are interested in any design and/or signage solutions, you can contact me and I can give you some quotes! Though I have worked in coffee on and off for the past couple of years I never really tried an iced coffee before. That was until I came to 110 degree Kansas. Morning ice coffee waiting for the conference to begin. Decided to make our own ice coffee today. PS Nevermind the crazy eyes in this picture. The women to men ratio at this conference is dramatically skewed. To every man there are about 500 women. Also I was unaware that capri pants were so popular amongst middle-age...
