I'm tired

I would post more but I have no energy. I will write more later. Just know my next post will most likely include: food, retreat, 5K/10K and more food. Until then, I hope you are all doing well and finding the rest I have lost. shalom ----Update------- Ok correction, I thought I was exhausted, but now I am beyond exhausted. As in exhausted would feel restful right now.

Confession

So I have a confession: I like Glee. Judge me if you will, I am sorry, it's funny and has great break-out-in-song scenes, though meld better than most musicals. I thought that after showing what I deemed cute and would be under your scrutiny already I might as well come out and tell you about this as well. Though for some redemption I will tell you that I also love Project Runway, Lost (though I am way behind in Lost) and House. If that makes you judge me as well then I don't know what to tell you. I think this parody is great by the way. Bahaha Coming soon to bowlcutsandchippedteeth... Spinach Strawberry Kiwi Salad, Artichoke Apricot Chicken Flambe (yes, I actually flambeed something! Exciting and terrifying at the same time), and gardening stuff.

Well that's just cute.

Okay so I thought I would make a post of cute/ clever/ fun little things that I have accumulating on my computer. Let me begin by defining things I find adorable: small fluffy animals, grandpas, things grandpas do like picking out outfits, and miniature things. So basically this post will include animals and miniatures and just sheer clever things I like. (Don't judge me for this post) Starting off with Sharon Montrose's photography. Love. Generally speaking I am not much of a lover of animal photography, I am kind of indifferent. But this is great. Then moving down to this awesome Yeti Cake... Julia ,a friend from high school, didn't want to waste a crumbled bunt cake and got creative. It is all in the presentation. For some reason I like miniature things. I found this on a blog that I can no longer find. hmm. Jessica Hiavac makes miniature foods made of molding clay stuff. Get it? Teashirt bags. bahaha I like them so much I would contemplate drinking tea. (Which by...

So I actually made a completely different blog post earlier about cute stuff. Literally. Then I decided to post that later on and to tell you about my weekend instead. I already told you about Thursday being our Passover Dinner and how some friends and I went to First Friday, though my weekend didn't end there. Saturday I spent a lazy day going to Second Chance Thrift Store off of Troost (don't worry I wasn't alone.) Then we went to the magical Blackwell Thrift, where everything is not sorted by product by rather by color. Aw, it's wonderful. Rows of clear glass followed by rows of blue glass then amber and then silver. Ceramics, glasses, utensils, skillets, mincers, jewelry and much more. Oh and did I mention there is a room of mirrors and a picture room with cigar boxes. After my seizure of excitement we decided to walk around the plaza which was amazing considering the weather was gorge. That evening a group of friends (almost all the same people as First Friday) we...

Take a minute and take a deep breath. In... and... out. That was nice. Actually let's do it again, this time closing your eyes and unclenching your back teeth. Breath in through the nose... and... out through the nose. Awww, that is more like it. I have been going none stop for the past couple of weeks and I feel like I finally get a small breather. Not a big one because Monday I start working on the Mayday Race full force and I will also be working on my support raising for my internship. Oh, yeah and I will be working on Retreat stage design and next weekend I will be a judge at Fine Arts in Wichita, KS. Okay, return to deep methodical breaths, that all doesn't start back up until Monday. Though my schedule this week has been hectic and there were definite moments when I asked myself "why did you do this to yourself?" and "what were you thinking?" I have still had a great time. I also learned some things this past week. Like whisking egg whites until they...

Baked in a Skillet

I thought that once I really started getting comfortable with cooking that my everyday meals (not just meals for special occasions) would become more extravagant or unique or at least well rounded. Though alas this has not come true, well not yet anyways. I still eat bowls of cereal and pop tarts for breakfast, I still hastily assemble pb & j's (I can't write pb and j, I have to use the ampersand for some reason) and cheese quesadillas for lunch and then warm up something for dinner. I guess I am just getting ahead of myself. I have been comparing myself to the masters... take for instance my grandma. I will go over to my grandma's for lunch and she will slice an avocado and splay it out like a fan next to her croissant and tuna sandwich and then maybe break out some kettle chips or something and then make whipped cream from heavy whipping cream and make a quick strawberry short cake and not even bat an eye. It would be nothing for my mom to create some dumplings from ...

Headaches

My head hurts. My head hurts for several reasons but namely because I was just dropping a towel down the laundry shoot when a vaporizer-machine-thing that must have been teetering on the top shelf of the closet came plunging down and crashed into the back of my head as I was leaning over. Now I just feel stupid in addition to the pain. Aside from the physical pain my brain is feeling I have also been under much mental strain. For any other person this kind of strain would be nothing but a cough or a light sneeze but for me it is causing my brain to hemorrhage. Today's Check list: 1. Print out weekly bulletins before folding people come 2. Work on 5K/10K race registration, posters, handouts and research the possibilities of registering online. Also make sure treasurer cut check for Johnson County Parks and Recreation or no race at all. Also look into getting sponsors for refreshments the day of the race. 3. After changing Passover Dinner from just being a young adults event to an al...
