I am completely moved in. It has only taken me 9+ months, but I did it. Well technically my friends did it. Today while I was out, they moved my couch from being stored in my friends' garage to my living room (thanks friends). I mean I have like a box of random odds and ends but I may never actually use those things because we already have duplicates such as the iron and so forth which my roommate has provided. So it is in storage but for an entirely different reason. Regardless, I'm moved in. I may share pictures later. This reminds me of the scene in The Incredibles when Elastigirl is telling Mr Incredible that they are officially moved in 3 years after they moved in because she just unpacked that last box. It may be a kids' movie, but I like it all the same. On a different note, I bought a loom the other day. A beading loom. I know I know, judge me if you will. One second I am looming beaded bracelets and spend short bits of free time cruising the isles at Joann Craft an...

The--------- Blog Post

Wednesday night I wrote a new blog post about getting up at 6:30AM and jumbily getting ready, eating only a cheese stick for breakfast because I was running late and then sitting through traffic and searching for a parking spot like a hawk only to find out that Wednesday was my day off and that I was supposed to work on Thursday. Well, for whatever reason that post is gone. Completely missing. I had published it that night and then today I decided to read other blogs that I have RSSed on my blog here and realized that the Process of Solidification blog was the last posted. So we are dealing with one of three things... 1. I dreamt, imagined, or hallucinated that I wrote a blog post when I in fact never did. 2. Computer error, it is floating around somewhere on cyberspace or it was simply deleted by Blogger. 3. There is a conspiracy and someone is trying to mess with me. Any of these options are disconcerting. Though the glory of a missing post is that I can say that it was such an amazi...

Wow

Lately I have been enjoying the "poor man's dessert" and by enjoying I mean devouring and by poor man's dessert I mean strawberries and/or canned peaches (drained and rinsed) smothered in sweetened condensed milk and eaten like its cereal. Its oh so good and since half of the ingredients are fruit it makes me feel like I am being more healthy. You should try it some time. That is if you haven't already, I make it sound as if I have invented it or something which is far from the truth, this sort of thing is eaten world round. Basically what I am saying is if you haven't already, get with the world and try this amazing combination. I woke up this morning around 6:20 and got up around 6:40 to get ready for work. I dressed, packed a quick lunch grabbed a cheese stick for breakfast (I was running late and had to rush), sat through traffic, found parking and ran in to work only to find that today was my day off and that tomorrow I come in at 7:30am. All this to say,...

I have yet to write about my visit to Kansas City last weekend because I am still trying to collect myself from the overwhelming cuteness I witnessed. I mean this in the least condescending way, but my family is adorable. From the obvious like my newborn niece, Remy or my Gpa who I found sitting in the other room giggling to himself to the less obvious like my dad who offered to go to Forever 21 with my sister and I (but only lasted 5 minutes before he bailed and went to Sports Nuts) or my mom who was ecstatic about introducing me to a new Sheridan's flavor. That is just the tip of the iceberg! I could easily carry on for a great deal of time covering instances of cuteness. Though I will spare you of such stories because I fear you won't be as "tickled" (for lack of a better word) than I was. Though here are some visual aides to the adorableness in case you don't believe me. Exhibit A: Remy smiling in her sleep. Exhibit B: Dimples. Exhibit C: Gpa talking with a fr...

Since I have moved to LA I haven't really delved into the art scene just yet. I feel like I need an in somehow, someone to show me the ropes. Someone like my high school photography teacher, Jones, who knew all the ins and outs of all the galleries, museums and exhibitions. During the first quarter here I was introduced to the LACMA and the Getty Villa by a friend but he has since moved to Italy and is learning about the masters of art in Roma (very jealous). Needless to say I am jonesing for First Fridays, galleries and the like. I'm not just craving the visual arts but arts in general. This was my train of thought to curb some of my art hunger pangs: I should have a house show! > Wait, I don't know any local musicians. > My half pint home can only hold a handful of people. > Poop. > Need a smaller group of people. > I should have a night of spoken word. > That would cut down the crowd considerably. > I could make snacks and appetizers! > We could ...
